The Southlands Community Centre is a new state of the art facility constructed to meet the needs of a young and vibrant community in the west end of St. John's.

The new Center includes space for a dedicated youth room, an outdoor playground, a fitness area and several multi-purpose spaces to meet the needs of the Southlands Community.

The structure generally consists of Conventional Steel construction with metal decking supported by a combination of OWSJ's and Steel beams. The Steel beams are in turn supported by steel columns which carry the loads to the Foundation system.

Additionally, the high roof over the multi-purpose area generally consist of a Cross-Laminated-Timber (CLT) panels on Glulam beams. The Glulam beams are supported by Steel Girders and Steel columns.
